Services available to postgraduate 

 

Research Spaces

The Research Common is available for postgraduates and researchers in the library at Bloemfontein campus. It provide computers with relevant  printing facilities and foster a collaborative environment. On-site assistance is available from a librarian.

Inter-library Services

This service enables CUT users to obtain material that is not available at CUT libraries. Items can be obtained nationally for free. Contact your  librarian for details and to place your request.

 

Virtual Library

Access to all print and online resources is via the library website. To access library databases and e-books use the links from the library website and login with your student number and password eg. Username:23000000 Password: e-thuto pass word. Or contact your librarian 

 

 

 

CHELSA Reciprocal Library Agreement

On application, CUT postgraduates based in other areas of South Africa can apply to use the academic library nearest to them. The CUT library provides a letter of introduction. Please contact your librarian for this assistance. 

 

Information Literacy Workshops

These workshops aim to equip postgraduates to become more independent researchers:

  • Finding information using credible sources 
  • Evaluating this information 
  • Citing and referencing sources of information 
  • Using reference tools to manage research information

CUT Open Scholar –  institutional repository (CUTScholar)

CUT repository houses the research output of CUT. It consists of CUT published research papers; and Masters and Doctoral theses. An embargo period may apply to some theses which means you cannot access the fulltext for these particular theses. CUT libraries also have theses in print format accessed through request.
