Plagiarism

Plagiarism occurs when you use someone else’s words or ideas and pass them off as your own. It means stealing someone else’s words or ideas. Plagiarism is one of the most serious offences in the academic world. You may even face expulsion from your course at the CUT. Kindly consult the Manual for Writing Assignments & Reference Techniques for more information on how to avoid plagiarism.

SafeAssign is a tool used to prevent plagiarism and to create opportunities to help students identify how to properly attribute sources rather than paraphrase. SafeAssign is effective as both a deterrent and an educational tool.
